The word Meru means a great mountain. With this philosophy, the company was formed with a desire to climb surreal heights.

Formed in 2000, the company's founder Mr Himmat Kothari established Meru Diamonds with modest means of a small set up in Zaveri Bazaar, Mumbai. As of 2022, the company has greatly expanded its business operations in whole of India and experiencing double digit growth every year.
